October 10, 2011Last Tuesday, my Tundra was running fine. Wednesday it was parked, Thursday I went to pick up a new lawnmower, and then that evening, problems started. After driving it for about 15 minutes, it started to choke and act like it wasn`t getting enough gas. I thought that at worst, there was somehow water in the gas tank. I made it home and parked it. Took it to the Toyota performance parts shop and the tech popped the hood and found that my radiator and transmission fluid were milky. Without missing a beat I was informed that my transmission had to be `gone` I felt no slipping of the transmission while driving it. Next, the temperature gauge never went above half and my RPM gauge was at its normal level.
They didn`t even check the engine or hook it up to diagnostics because of the transmission problem and said that was all my worries.
A few people have told me to look into vandalism, but the shop said that it could be normal wear and tear. I just hit 100k miles.
